stuffed

I sat up late last night in front of TV (with only boring rubbish to watch - except for Spick & Specks) and stuffed these girls. Going off to One Small Room soon.
Then I stayed up even later looking on the net for Dutch natural linen sewing tape - like the printed Japanese designs that are so popular at the moment. I'd love to print some of my own designs on it.

purse

The Matryoshka doll purse and it's family are a birthday gift for this darling girl. So quick and easy to make, I might do some more.

Black Bags Sale

There's a little sale going on over at Black Bags: 15% off until Nov 4, 2008. And if you're quick, there's a new 'mollybirds' laptop/shoulderbag on offer. I've said this before, her attention to detail and sewing is perfect!

And on the homefront, Harry and I learnt a new lesson while at the beach this week... never ever wear goggles while skimming your boogie board along the waters edge at the beach. Harry's board hit the sand, he went face first over the front and into the ground. The goggs cut above and below his eye and it wasn't pretty. I fall apart when it comes to medical stuff so luckily a man sitting with his family took charge and walked us over to the life savers to clean and patch up poor Harry. Glenn, take charge man, later revealed he was part of an emergency response unit for diving and sea accidents. Yah for Glenn!!
Harry and I decided his face looks worse than when he went face first over his scooter this year (days before school photos, nice), but not so bad as when he went down a massive hill 2 years ago and came off halfway down. I had to make Jack walk home and put Harry in the pram. Jack cried the whole way home because he was tired and kept sitting down, while Harry was hysterical and cried from the pain. Boys... never a dull moment.

More Melb

The exhibition in daytime.

Auction Rooms cafe as viewed from the courtyard sipping hot chocolate.

On another note, I picked up some more Matryoshka printed calico totes today - this time with one long strap to fit over your head. Will have to drag out my iron, dust off the cobwebs to press it and photograph tomorrow (there are 50 available this time so you won't miss out).

Melbourne

Wow, had a fab time in Melbourne thanks to the hospitable Lara and some gorgeous weather. I have loads of photos to share. But before I duck out to the post office with the kiddies, here's a pic of a great find we had on Saturday. $12 each at the local Antique centre. More photos of Melbourne, stories of what we got up to and the goodies I bought to come this week.

And the exhibition I went to see (from opening night).

market day

There's another craft market on this Saturday. A few of my crafty friends together in one place to sell our handmade products. Sadly I can't be there (not too sad because I'll be hanging out in Melb) so my good friend, Natalie will be selling my stuff!! Come and buy my fabrics, notepads, teatowels, brooches, sewing patterns, dolls...
